The Cambridge Cycle Challenge took place from 7-27 June 2010. Almost 100 organisations and over 2,400 people took part, logging an incredible 163,300 miles between them. Even in a city with high cycling levels as Cambridge, the Challenge inspired 132 new cyclists to take to their bikes.

"The Workplace Challenge exceeded all of our targets and expectations. The website was attractive and easy to use, and worked well as a way of communicating other upcoming events. All in all the Challenge worked so well that we are in the process of organising another one!"

Mike Davies, Programme Manager - Cycle Cambridge

Participant feedback

Cycling has now become my preferred mode of commuting, and I am now confident enough to use it as a mode of transport more often. (occasional cyclist)
The colleagues that were new cyclists continue to cycle - so this was a great scheme! (regular cyclist)
Before the Challenge I was too nervous to ride a bike and drove/walked to work. Now I'm loving cycling in all weathers and am getting more and more confident. (new cyclist)
